Blackberry?... or Crackberry?

There’s a lot of things we Blackberry owners encounter that range from completely annoying to absolutely ridiculous.  Here are a few 'dont's' that one should keep in mind if they currently are, or intend to join this revolution in instant messaging!

DONT'S 

• Broadcast messages.

Love them and love to hate them. Lets just get one thing straight, we are all unique just like everyone else! So before you hit 'select all' and send off a joke which you think is hysterical, take a second and think: will my mom, boyfriend/girlfriend, friend from church and 14 year old cousin find a sex joke funny. The answer is NO!

Besides jokes, other broadcast messages such as 'if you don't forward this, your family will die' , 'pray for this dying child' and 'click on this link' are highly irritating. 3 things, if you think your family will honestly die if you don't forward the message, we have bigger problems to deal with. If I wanted to feel sad and know what was happening in the world I would watch the news and lastly, I will not click on some unknown random link without any knowledge of what it is, because I am not an idiot.

Just this morning I got this broadcast message from a friend. It read 'Gaza under attack, with pictures... with a URL link attached'. So I clicked on the link (I don't know what I was thinking) and waited as horrific picture after horrific picture downloaded onto my phone! I could not believe it! Thank you so much for making me feel sick. Did you honestly have to do that to me? Yes we should all be aware of whats happening in the world, but to send me those pictures which would make Hitler vomit is just wrong! makes me wonder if you are sending that to your 14 year old cousin too!

• Changing of profile pictures and display names

Yes we know you look completely different and even more gorgeous from different angles and with different facial expressions but PLEASE don't change your picture 27 times a day! I.WILL.KILL.U. Oh and changing you display name, just keep in mind that most people know you by your real name! NOT a nickname you just made up!

• Status updates

No sane person goes from happy, to sad, to excited, to hungry, to overwhelmed, to angry in the space of 2 hours.

Really, I understand that a status update is used to indirectly communicate with your contacts, but when you abuse this I.WILL.DELETE.U.
AND personal business is just that, PERSONAL, if you put it as your status, I like many other people will just see it as attention seeking and ignore it, while under the surface they are quietly planning your assassination. Yes there are a few exceptions, but I am waaaaay passed caring.

Other than those top 3 pet peeves about Blackberry's, don't get me wrong.....I love them! I save tremendously on airtime and can keep in contact with friends and family near and far!
